Negative thirteen degrees Celsius. Severe Weather Advisory advises windchills as low as minus twenty-seven. Degrees. Celsius. Cold weather sounds more dramatic in Celsius, but -27°C is sub-zero by anyone’s standard. Brisk indeed.
After nearly a week of being snowed in, frozen over, and sick, I can’t bear the notion of another day indoors. The advisory ends at 10 AM EST, and it’s not windy where I am. I can tell from the trees.
I’m unusually cold-tolerant, so I’m sure I’ll be fine. Only, I don’t know where I’d go or what I’d do. The trails are iced over, I’m told the city sidewalks are skating rinks, and I’m still coughing up goop enough that I shouldn’t be visiting anyone.
I don’t know what I’m going to do, but I can tell you I’m not spending the day staring at my computer. That’s probably for sure.
