Well Before Dawn

I awoke at 5:30 a.m. for no reason, and already I’m at the computer. I figured I’d spend a little time working on Reasonably.Social as long as I was up. I’m building the site with the Astro framework, which installs a default theme that doesn’t entirely follow best practices for semantic markup or styling with CSS. Fortunately, the templating and component system is simple and very easy to work with compared to other static site generators. I awoke at 5:30 a.m. for no reason, and already I’m at the computer. I should give the computer a rest for a bit. The cold, arid air is aggravating my dry eyes, and I’ve been off my meds for at least a week because the specialty pharmacy is running behind on refilling my eye drops prescription. A tiny bottle of the stuff should have been here a week or two ago, but there is some kind of holdup, likely originating with the PBM (pharmacy benefits manager), but I don’t really know. I’ll double up on the OTC drops and crank the humidifiers in the meantime. My houseplants and I appreciate high humidity in winter.
