I Know This Sounds Crazy, Butโฆ

My theme of late has been mortality. Iโm quietly obsessed with the fact that we (each and every one of us) could die at literally any second. Thereโs no telling when the Reaper is going to pop his anthropomorphic head up and take you out for a long, long lunch. The world is rife with well-armed madmen, aneurisms lying in wait, plaque clogged arteries on the verge of exploding, and errant meteors aimed directly at your head. Obviously we all know this to be the case in an abstract and remote kind of way, but lately Iโve become fascinated with the immediate reality of it. Literally each second could be your last. Or, more pressingly, my last. And this has always been the case for all the seconds of my life thus far. Yours too. Thatโs an insane way to live, but weโve all been doing it for millions upon millions of seconds. Can you imagine how many Planck times that is? The overwhelming odds against our survival thus far are mind bending.
