On Being on the Water
I can’t express how much I adore living immediately next to a lake. Nothing has been so recuperative as to live alongside a body of water and among the assorted wildlife similarly drawn to it. Anthropologists often harp on the utility associated with settling by the waterfront, but I feel there’s more to it than practicality. There is something biologically right about living near the water.
