My Unconscious Monospace
My dreams, for what I can recall of them anyway, are normally in vivid color with dynamic sound. But sometimes they are written in computer code. I am seldom present as an actor in these code dreams. There’s typically no computer, keyboard, or—Heaven forbid—a mouse. It’s just code in a boundless white-on-black terminal window. I can interact with the disembodied screen by scrolling, selecting, editing, deleting, and so forth, but I don’t have any physical presence. Sometimes these dreams are in color and I enjoy the benefits of syntax highlighting. Now if only I could install some kind of IntelliSense plugin.
