Fifteen.Nine Miles

BAR.

This month’s heating bill was outrageous. One hundred and sixty dollars for a one-bedroom apartment. Fortunately, the deep freeze is over. I even opened the windows. Fresh air! Meteorological spring starts next week, so I don’t expect those bitter temperatures to be back any time soon.

Yesterday, I went on three long walks. Siri says they total 15.9 miles. I don’t know how many steps that adds up to. A bunch? My longest jaunt was 7 miles. I could have gone further, but it was getting late. I was also breaking in a pair of Iron Rangers. The Red Wings number 8 last fits my feet perfectly. Even so, I don’t believe it’s possible to clock that sort of mileage in even the best of brand-new boots without getting a few blisters for the effort.

Today, I’m tired. Not sore. Just tired. I’d like to go to bed, but I’m supposed to wait three hours after eating dinner before I do. I still have a little to go. I’m trying to get my GERD under control. Adjusting my eating habits and mega-dosing vitamin D has incidentally helped me lose the unwanted pounds I put on earlier last year when I had to take all those antibiotics for my broken tooth. I should be down to my target weight in a few more weeks.

That’s good news because all of my fat goes directly to my belly. This visceral fat is associated with serious health risks, so getting rid of the extra pounds hanging there is a great idea. And being thinner in the belly is said to be good for the digestion, too. A big fat arse is no problem, but that beer belly will kill you.
