Rain and More… Rain

We’re having a Nor’easter. It’s not so bad here. There’s not much wind to speak of and the rain isn’t torrential or anything, but it is coming down too heavy to do much outside. No matter; I had planned to spend the afternoon doing chores anyway.

Some good news is that I may have fixed my leaky kitchen skylight. Everyone has been focusing on the outside seals, but I figured there was probably a gasket or something on the inside, too. So I got up on a ladder and cranked the window shut as tight as I could without breaking anything. That seems to have done the trick. I put some paper towels in the sink a couple of hours ago, and they’re still dry.

There was no spark of insight on my part. I only had one lever available to me to potentially influence the situation, so I cranked on it. I may have gotten lucky. Here’s hoping it holds.
