Who Has Time for Titles in this Day and Age?

It’s Friday! To celebrate, I’m having a bourbon over ice with a splash of mineral water. I expect a busy weekend, so I’m working in a quick blog post now, as I sip.
It’s rushed. My August of no computers after six is going great, but I don’t get out of work until five or five-thirty, and then I have to make dinner, so it’s challenging to process photos and write blog posts during the week. However, it’s delightful to be free of the machines for a bit.
Things are going well here. I still have a good job, which is nice. I think the last of the yellow jackets have died off. I haven’t seen any in a few days. I only miss them a little. I don’t need to buy anything else for my apartment, which is a great relief.
My plants are growing well—I’ve added three more to the forest today! My new place has significantly more light than the city place did, and the plants unquestionably appreciate the increase in photons. They all need a good pruning, but that feels so mean.
Sparrow gangs remain a nuisance at the bird feeder, though switching to safflower seed has dramatically reduced the numbers hanging around, giving the other species a shot at a nibble. I even saw a couple of titmice out there a moment ago.
