I’m All Doped Up
My allergies have ramped up. I’m on medication. The label says it’s a non-drowsy antihistamine, but that is a lie. I feel like I haven’t slept in days. I’m going to bed early tonight.
After work this evening I had Claude Opus migrate my old SittingInOblivion blog into the new system. The original site has been offline since the beginning of 2024. It was built on the Drupal 7 CMS, which had reached End of Life and was no longer safe to keep online. Even the version of PHP it required was out of support.
The robot reconstructed the site’s structure and configuration by inspecting the database backup file. It then installed a SQL server, populated it with the site data, and wrote migration scripts to query the database and output all the data into the new Markdown file format. It got things about 95% correct. The entire process took 20 minutes. The output needs a little manual review and cleanup before the old content can be reposted, but on the whole it did an amazing job in short order.
