Phew, That Was Expensive
I’m mostly settled in. Pretty much everything is unpacked and has something like a place, even if that place is to be haphazardly thrown into a closet or stacked on a table in the basement. The kitchen is usable. The living room is more or less how it’s going to be for a while. The bookshelves aren’t moving again anytime soon. The dining room table and chairs are scheduled for delivery on the eighth. My new mattress and adjustable base were delivered today, but the base was damaged and had to go back. I’m supposed to get the replacement tomorrow. The shower curtain rod and associated curtains have been acquired and installed. I have a garden hose and a decorative pot to hide it in. The wildflower seeds are sprouting en masse. I plan to sow more along the fence after it rains. I will sow lavender seeds as well.
I still have some things to pick up at the old place. And it needs a final move-out cleaning by next weekend. It feels like moving never ends. But it will end. I’m already doing a lot less cleaning and organizing. This place is much larger and doesn’t get cluttered. My spending has finally slowed down. And it’s peaceful here. Even the dishwasher is quiet. Honestly, the daily barrage of leaf blowers and weed whackers is stilly compared to downtown. Which reminds me, I have to mow the lawn. It’s getting scruffy.
