I’m Still Here, I Swear

It’s been a minute. Keeping up with work and doctor appointments while apartment hunting has not left me much energy for things like blogging, photography, or cleaning my apartment.
My doctor appointments are all routine maintenance and going well. My new insurance covers the Repatha,1 so the cardiologist has me back on needle drugs. The good kind. Meanwhile, the gastroenterologist has me off PPIs because they aggravate tinnitus. A little Pepcid and some Tums seem to be enough to keep things in check if I watch what I eat and keep the booze to a minimum. My weight is down. My blood pressure is down. My mood is up despite the markets being way, way down.2
I take photos every day, even when I don’t have the time or energy, but it takes me a lot longer to get around to processing the captures, and they’re usually not so great. I do it anyway. I went out shooting for three hours this morning, in fact. I was in the streets by seven a.m. I wanted to take photos of the statues on City Hall with my new lens (we’ll get to that in a minute), but the weather was too grey for it, so I took street photos instead.
I spent most of yesterday getting the apartment under control. It’s still a mess, but it’s manageable. I plan to start packing up the place this afternoon. That will free up some space and cut down on the clutter. I don’t actually have that much stuff. The problem is my apartment is tiny. Moving to a larger space will sort out the clutter issue instantly.
About the lens. I bought a Fujifilm XF 150-600mm F5.6-8 R LM OIS WR. Normally, I would have spent a few months making up my mind about the purchase, but I wanted to get my hands on a long zoom now before the price of everything goes through the roof.2 The lens is huge. Not at all suitable for the streets. And that’s fine because I’m pretty sure I’ve found a new place to live. It’s next to a lake a river away from the streets. I’m supposed to sign a lease this week. I will be nervous and anxious until the ink dries.
